Bao Craze @ Klang Food Centre

What comes to your mind first thing when I mention Klang Food ? . .
Spot on ! Bat Kut Teh !
BUT did you know that you can find delicious Bao in Klang too?

Humbly located at one of the shop lots at Jalan Lima, Klang Food Centre is a well known place among the locals.

Check out those golden brown puffs

Assorted steamed filled buns ready to be served.

These ones with black sesame seeds are my favourite . . will reveal what's inside later :p

Before these Baos rise, they look like small dumplings !

These ones here . . Don't you think that they resembles mini piglets ?

 The master Chefs in action.

I was in awe how fast they simply gather the pleats, pinch and twist the top of the bun shuts . . I'm sure it takes years of practice to do it that fast and consistent ! Respect !

Alil disappointed with this dessert . . it's too diluted. Very little red bean taste, and overall missing the creamy texture :(

Let's introduce the real food !

Curry Chicken Bao

One of the best seller, this bao has a hidden treasure inside !
Served in an aluminium foil, you find rich and thick chicken curry and potatoes. Dip the soft pillowy bao skin in the rich sauce and the result is just deliciously remarkable !! You can also choose to wrap the curry chicken with the skin . . what a pleasure treat !

Take a good look at the generous filling !

Remember I mentioned earlier that my favourite one has the black sesame?

Mui Choy Bao

It's not too common to find these Mui Choy Bao. These preserved mustard greens aka "Mui Choy" fillings has the right balance of saltiness and sweetness. The black sesame seeds on the exterior brings lil fragrance to the Bao :)

It is one of the best savoury bao on earth !

Introducng another best seller . .
I believe you can guess this one easily with the red mark on top :p

Unwrap from its bamboo leaf . . It is a real giant size Rice Dumpling !
Thumbs Up !! It is served with succulent belly pork and many other ingredients like chest nuts, black eyed peas and aromatic dried baby shrimps.

Mountain Tall of Black Eyed Peas . .

Tummy were so full by then, therefore decided to take away. Ordered one Char Siew Bao, a Mui Choy Bao and a Dai Bao.

Dai Bao
Rating: Taste ♥♥♥ Texture ♥♥ Value for money ♥♥♥ Overall ♥♥

This big guy here usually served as a meal coz it's HUGE !
Unlike those Dai Bao out there that has really thick skin and little fillings, this big guy here has King Size fillings inside ! Combination of tender pork meat with hard boiled egg . . it's worth every penny with full hunger satisfaction !

Recommended by the popular local TV food show from 8TV . . Ho Chiak !
