Malacca Street Food: Chicken Rice Balls @ Restaurant Famosa, Jonker Street

Jonker Street Malacca, my favourite place to be. . be it for street shopping, street food hunting, antique look-out or just simply street walking, there's surely something that sparkles to your eyes !

Everyone knows Malacca is famous for their chicken rice ball. Almost every corner of Jonker street (I might be exaggerating :P), you can find restaurants serving chicken rice ball. The famous chicken rice ball restaurant in Malaaca include the famous Kedai Kopi Chung Wah with its forever lengthy queue outside its shop, and then there's the humble looking Hoe Kee Hainan Chicken Rice Restaurant, and last but not least the famous red Restaurant Famosa.

Well, during this trip to Malacca, we decided to drop by at Restaurant Famosa, located at Jalan Hang Kasturi. It was a real short trip, hence we did not want to waste any time queuing up at the other restaurant, but don't get me wrong i really don't mind queuing up for good food :)

the interior
It's pretty traditional looking, but the strong red background gives a good modern twist to its antique furniture.

Steamed Chicken with Rice Ball

Simply classic! The rice ball is nicely fragrant and not too oily. The chicken is nicely shimmered with their special soya sauce and it was nicely chopped too! I'm quite particular in how a chef chopped and served the chicken. You can judge if the chef had a bad skill, simply when you accidentally bite off some crushed pieces of chicken bones. . what a big turn off !

I usually would prefer the roasted chicken but this time the steamed chicken wins!
