Cranberry Apple Fruit Tea @ Each A Cup, Wangsa Walk Mall (Wangsa Maju)

Recently with the bad haze hitting the town, most of us would prefer to spend our time indoor especially in the shopping mall :) Last weekend, I've decided to drop by Wangsa Walk Mall at Wangsa Maju that I've heard so much about.

That time I was craving for something refreshing yet healthy . . therefore, i bumped into the well known bubble tea kiosk, Each A Cup. With more than 80 outlets nationwide, Each A Cup claims that they used only quality concentrated fruit juice and not syrup.

BUT I'm not really a coffee person . . hehe . . So I've ordered tea instead :)

Exotic Asam Laksa: Ah Cheng Laksa 阿清拉沙 @ Giant Stadium Shah Alam

I work in Shah Alam but to be honest I'm not well exposed to much good food here yet. Maybe I have not explored enough. Well, perhaps you can introduce some good place to me? My colleague recommended this place, Ah Cheng Laksa at Giant Stadium Shah Alam

Ah Cheng Laksa was originated all the way back in 1960, in a small town Alor Setar, Kedah. It started off as a small family business, it was then passed down to one of their children, Ah Cheng and has expanded their business to Klang Valley ever since. It seems that originality is the secret to the popularity of their exotic Asam Laksa :)

The generous amount of fresh sardine contributes to the thickness of the soup. It is also served with chunks of fresh Kembang fish. Taste just like from North, the right amount of sourness and spicyness brings the North kick to this dish !

Here, they also served Asam Laksa with a variety of choice: Fish/Sotong/Prawn/Seafood.

Murni Discovery @ Aman Suria (Sunway Mas)

Murni is a well known Mamak with 5 branches at different points of Klang Valley. Compared to the famous branch in SS2, Murni Discovery @ Aman Suria has a better ambience with air-conditioning and cleaner environment.

Two words best describe their menu- variety & sharing. They serve various foods across Chinese cuisine, Malay delicacies to Indian tantalizing roti, you name it ! And the portion of food they served is really generous and meant for sharing. No matter which type of foods you pick, it will definitely give your taste bud a fresh definition of delicious.

At Murni, I always look forward to try out their different drinks, especially their fruit juices mix. Do check out the creative names for their drinks :)

However, i find it pretty oily, but the ones I've tried in Murni SS2 is perfect !

Triple layer of bread filled with a big slice of juicy Chicken Patty & Chicken Sausages topped with leafy lettuce and mayonnaise. I find the bread a little dry but overall it's simply good !

Malacca Street Food: Fried Yam Coin, Jonker Street

Fried Yam Abacus aka Fried Yam Coin is a must have when you visit Jonker Street, Malacca. It's really a perfect street food. The joy of picking up the sizzling hot, bite size yam coins into you mouth is just spot on !

Yam Coin is tyical Hakka dish. It is made of mashed yams moulded into mini balls that resembles the shape of coin. Well, the name says it all, the Hakka believes that having this meal brings them wealth and prosperity. So, the more you should try it !

The starchy texture of the yam coins fried together with the black fungus brings a chewy bite to it. The combination of sweetness from the minced meat and the dried shrimps together with the garlic fragrant makes a perfect sauce ! It's finger licking GOOD !

Malacca Street Food: Ah Bao's 'Oh Chien' (Fried Oyster), Jonker Street

Jonker Street came to life during night time with its night market attracting a whole bunch of non-locals. 'Oh Chien' aka Fried Oyster has always been my all time favourite sinful snack :P The tantalizing smell of the Oyster Omelette being fried will always smack right up to your nose, you can never miss it! Ah Bao's 'Oh Chien' Stall is our first stop for the night.

Fried Oyster Omelette 'Oh Chien'
Rating: Taste ♥ Value for money ♥♥ Overall ♥
rm 7.00 (medium)
(Ranges from rm5, rm6, rm7, rm8, rm10)

Well, a pretty generous portion for rm7, you can never get that in KL ! However, the taste is just so-so. I personally prefer my Oh Chien to be crispy at its sides and with the right starchy texture. But this one in particular is too starchy and sticky. The Oyster served was also real mini, you can hardly see it from the picture above ! :(

I've yet to try the famous 'Oh Chien' @ Jalan Bunga Raya, Malacca that i've heard so much about. Apparently, that was one of the best ! Well, i surely will not miss it the next time i visit Malacca :)
